Algorithmic accountability disclosure
Defense and government contractors are facing direct regulatory pressure on algorithmic accountability disclosure, as the U.S. Department of Defense's Responsible Artificial Intelligence guidelines and the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council's proposed rulemaking on automated decision systems push contractors to document and disclose how algorithms influence procurement, personnel, and logistics decisions. The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs has also signaled that algorithmic tools used in hiring and workforce management fall within existing affirmative action audit authority. Compliance teams are currently mapping AI system inventories against draft disclosure requirements before contract renewal cycles force the issue.
