Best execution
Best execution obligations in Trade and Geopolitical Risk are being stress-tested by sanctions fragmentation, restricted securities designations, and cross-border execution constraints that did not exist in their current form five years ago. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the European Securities and Markets Authority, and the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority all maintain overlapping best execution frameworks, and compliance teams are actively auditing whether their order routing logic holds up when a counterparty or venue falls under new trade restrictions mid-quarter.
